Annual Christmas in July Celebration - 2013
Our annual beer release and party to benefit the Marine Corps' Toys for Tots Foundation!Join us for a day of Christmas time festivities, great food and beer to celebrate the release of bourbon barrel-aged Santa's Little Helper and collect toys and cash to benefit the Marine Corp's Toys for Tots foundation.
The Details:
- When: Saturday, July 13, 2013; Two sessions - 11am - 3pm & 4pm - 8pm
- Where: The Lost Abbey/Port Brewing, San Marcos, San Diego County, CA
- How Much: Whether you’ve been naughty or nice through the first half of the year, as long as you bring an unwrapped toy (valued at $15 or more) you’re in! Did your dog eat your toy along with your homework from 1995? Not a problem, for just $15 at the door you’re set to join us for food, fun, entertainment and photos with Santa all included! (Beers are all regular price)

- Food - Entrants will receive a ticket good for food at any of the three vendors in our mobile food court. Vendors include: Hoangies, Devilicious, and Red Oven Pizza
- On Tap - All of The Lost Abbey and Port Brewing’s full core lineup of beers will be available, plus a few specialty taps will be available. Besides the fat man in the red suit (who will be available for pictures throughout the day), we’ll also be celebrating 5 years of releasing a Bourbon barrel-aged version of our Imperial Stout, Santa’s Little Helper. A robust beer with tones of sweet malt, dark cocoa and notes of deep bourbon, Santa’s Little Helper is the perfect accompaniment to fruit cake during a California Christmas in July

Toys for Tots toy drive and fundraiser
- Toy Drive -- Bring a new, unwrapped toy valued at $15 or more to benefit Toys for Tots
- Giving Tree - Make an additional donation to Toys for Tots (above & beyond the unwrapped toy) and you get to select a gift from the Christmas Tree. Gifts will include rare bottles, Port Brewing & Lost Abbey gear, tickets to our legendary Barrel Night, and The Lost Abbey Ultimate Box Set.
Where's the Best of Show Trophy?
In 2012, The Lost Abbey received the Best of Show trophy at the San Diego International Beer Competition for Carnevale Ale. In celebration, we had each brewer spend a day with the trophy. From surfing and yoga to finding a new drinking buddy, The Best of Show trophy had quite a year with The Lost Abbey crew. With the festival returning again next weekend (June 21-23) we thought now was the perfect time to showcase its adventures.

7th Anniversary Party
Celebrate our 7th birthday with beer, food and a few of our closest friends!
To celebrate our 7th year of existence, we’re going back to our roots… Long gone are the anniversary parties that were focused on pony rides and balloon animals. We’re not going to bore you with lame card tricks and annoying roaming magicians looking for tips. (though last year’s magician has yet to re-appear from his disappearing act)This year’s 7th Anniversary party is all about GOOD BEER. We’re filling every one of our taps with beers both new and properly aged. We’re also bringing back our “Vintage Case” and filling that to the brim with some tasty “tracks”… umm… we mean beers… Tasty beers.We also thought we’d compliment this awesome selection of beer with four of our favorite food trucks! Devilicious, Red Oven Artisanal Pizza, Hoangies and Oscar’s Meat Pies. Each truck will have a dish paired with a select Lost Abbey or Port beers put together by our “Goddess of Paring”, Gwen.So there you have it! Beer, Food, Friends…and we’ll even throw in some face painting… It’s our party and we’ll paint our face if we want to!This will be a ticketed event; tickets will go on sale on 4/20 at 10am at www.lostabbeydev.wpengine.com. They’re $20 per person and $25 day of… Though we’ve never actually had any tickets available on the day of, just an FYI.Hope to see you there!

Hungry Hump Day Happy Hour!
To celebrate the fact that it’s staying light out later, even though we still feel like we’re losing an hour of sleep, our Hungry Hump Day Happy Hour will now begin at 4pm every Wednesday at the Port Brewing and Lost Abbey Tasting Room! With amazing food trucks stopping by every week, it’s the perfect chance to pair good food with good beer and celebrate getting over the hump.

San Diego Invades Monterey, CA!

Before we ventured to Denver for the Great American Beer Festival this year we announced that our fellow Saint, Abbey, had gone missing.
We announced there would be a reward for the person to follow his tracks and catch him at his final destination. Thanks to the help of Michael Kearns, and several more, he was found. Boos n' Brews Night 2012
It's that time again! Sharpen your carving knife and have your pumpkin goop scooper at the ready because it's Boos n' Brews night at The Lost Abbey!
Join us in the tasting room for fresh Port / Lost Abbey beers and whole lot of really creative pumpkin carving as we get ready to ward off the evil spritis on All Hallows Eve Wednesday. A family-friendly occassion, you can bring your own pumpkin or pick one up at the brewery!The tasting room opens at 1pm, and the carving starts at 6pm - pumpkins are free, but in limited supply, so get there early if you’re feeling crafty with the squash. Fresh Hop Estate Ale - Part Deux
Slap on your gloves and pluck some hops off the vine.
Calling all HopHeads! Monday 8/13 is "Harvest Day" for our crop of Fallbrook grown hops. We need volunteers to help pluck the vines. Lunch and Refreshment included. Must bring own leather gloves and a strong desire to reak of hop resin for days. Come join the fun!

A long time ago (well, 2004) in a Pizza Port not so far away (Solana Beach, CA), Tomme Arthur and New Belgium's Peter Bouckaert brewed an all Brettanomyces beer they called Mo' Betta Bretta.The two recently joined forces once again -- this time at The Lost Abbey -- to do a refresh of that beer.
