Sometimes you find yourself on a path with no discernible end. A journey begins with the only goal to stretch the limits of what we know and where we have been. The Golden Rule is the story of such a journey. The very first 100% all Brettanomyces beer produced in the United States for sale. This beer was the brainchild of Peter Brouckaert from New Belgium Brewing Co and Tomme Arthur of Pizza Port in Solana Beach. Originally called Moe Betta Bretta, now known simply as The Golden Rule. This beer is bathed in a hazy shade of gold that radiates light from every angle. Each batch celebrates the properties of Brettanomyces and all things possible when we take the fork in the proverbial road and look beyond the bushes to the other side. This beer is 6.5% ABV and available in 750 ml bottles and on draft in select locations.

Combining all the elements of a great winter ale we offer Merry Taj each winter season. Brewed loosely in a Winter IPA style, this beer brings the joy and merriment of Holiday tidings sure to reach the furthest reaches of the globe. IPA style beers were originally brewed and shipped to the Far East and the British Indies which is home to the Taj Mahal. Merry Taj is our Christmas pun with a nod to the Taj Mahal. Deep golden in color, this beer drips with hop oils at every turn. This beer is 10.0% ABV and available in 750 ml bottles and on draft at select locations.

A stronger version of our Lost and Found Abbey Ale brewed to a more contemplative alcohol content. Massive in every stretch of the brewing way possible this is the sort of beer that will remind a beer drinker who considers themselves a saint that even saints stray as sinners from time to time. Not for the faint of heart, this beer weighs in at a heavenly 9% ABV and is available in 750 ml bottles and on draft at select locations.

Our annual spring release. This Strong Wheat ale is brewed in the “Wit” bier tradition. Made from Unmalted Wheat, Malted Barley and Flaked Oats, this stronger but still thirst quenching beer is infused with Coriander, Orange Peel, Rose Hips and Lavender. A hazy shade of winter is peeled back revealing this great Spring time ale which celebrates the post winter frost and thawing that is Spring. 8.0% ABV Available in 750 ml bottles and on draft at select locations.

A blend of two hops, two malts and most importantly, two unique yeasts- this Belgian Pale is the result of an interaction made possible by these parties of two who can’t alone make a beer of this depth. The interaction of brewers yeast and the wild Brettanomyces yeast in combination with an addition of dry hops make this a most unique ale. 6.0% ABV and available in 750 ml bottles and on draft at select locations.

The history of the bible and religion is indeed the struggle of good vs. evil. Our Serpent’s Stout recognizes the evil of the dark side that we all struggle with. This is a massively thick and opaque beer that begs the saints to join the sinners in their path to a black existence. 10.5% ABV and available in 750 ml bottles and on draft at select locations.

- It seems that everyone knows the story of the Three Kings. Sent to follow the star in the sky each brought a gift for the baby they sought. One King brought Gold, the other Frankincense and the other Myrrh. Many breweries produce a Christmas Seasonal beer and this is our beer to celebrate the holiday season. Gold in color and bittered with the bark of Frankincense, we have even used the smallest amount of Myrrh which is an herb that has roots in ancient winemaking as well. A massive Golden Ale fit for a king (or Queen) we offer the Gift of the Magi each holiday season. 9.5% ABV and available in 750 ml bottles and on draft at select locations.

There once was a well known man who anticipated a great flood and with it set out to save the animals of the world. He built an ark and filled it with two of every living creature known to man. In honor of his commitment to the absurd (you don’t think building an ark in the middle of a dessert is ridiculous?) each year, we will invite a guest brewer friend of ours to come to our facility to brew with us. It will be a fusion of creative energies and a demonstration of our commitment to the absurd. But, we'll leave the animals behind while still finding a way to fill it with two of everything that is important to us.
